Storytelling and writing

I have always loved writing. When I was younger I would pen long letters to friends from whom I had become parted due to my father's job which took us to different cities in India every few years.

More recently letters have been replaced with emails or Facebook posts or messages. I find Twitter harder because I have more to say in a grammatically correct way than its character count allows.

I started blogging a year ago, always writing from my heart about things that I knew about and cared about. I discovered how powerful a means it was to get my voice heard, to tackle issues that mattered to me and make a difference.

I have always been a huge fan of story telling. I have long believed that the best learning happens when facts are presented as stories. It is no different when it comes to other aspects of life whether we are selling an idea or a product or even seeking a fair valuation for a business.

So my first book was always going to be about storytelling. I don't have the imagination to be a fictional writer, so I took the next best route and decided to tell real stories of real people.

Every one of us has a story to tell, but we may not always be ready or willing to tell it to the world. For every story that becomes public, thousands will remain untold. But that would be our loss. We have much to learn from the stories of others and their experiences.

Let the sharing and telling of stories begin and never end.
