Will you be reading in English or in Spanish ?

Most of the children who attended the Thanksgiving Reading Roadmap event at the International Institute of Madrid, Spain were Spaniards who were learning English. They ranged in age from 4 to 7 years old. To help them understand the American Thanksgiving holiday, I read some picture books to them in English about the spirit of giving thanks. They also had other fun activities like a movie about Thanksgiving, face painting, a craft project to make a turkey out of an empty toilet paper roll and photo sessions with a person dressed up like a turkey at a table with cut outs of a traditional Thanksgiving feast. The kids and their parents seemed to really enjoy all the fun and I personally loved reading to the kids.
