With recent political events and the accompanying turmoil, its been interesting working on the final book of The Klass series.

As most know, The Klass is a conspiracy bent on removing the South (or part of it) from the United States. As the idea for the books developed, such an extraordinary action seemed impossible. I still believe it is, but one can't help imagining or even seeing what may have once been hidden hairline fractures in our Union opening just a bit wider and slowly reaching deeper.

Nothing in my books is meant as a political statement of any kind. The story is pure fiction from beginning to end and arises fully from somewhere in my head. Yet, even a fantastical plot involving secession from the union seems somewhat more relevant recently.

I'll just let my characters sort out whether a new nation forms under The Klass or not.
