First Time on the First- New Goals For the New Year

photo First Time on the First_zpsjihaygzu.png

Yes, I'm aware it's not the first of the month. In short, I forgot to do my post. Oys! What a way to start off, right?

I have excuses though- good ones. The first was a holiday. I was busy writing out my New Year's resolutions. I was sorting out what I wanted to say for high impact. I was spending time with family. I was organizing my calendar, my book challenges, and my work schedule. I was lazy. Wait, scratch that last one.

It was really something of all of those excuses reasons.

But this year...
I like to put up some of my plan so that by going on public record; it will hold me somewhat accountable. I've included here three facets of the plan with a few of my goals.

3. Reduce reading when it overtakes the time needed for other worthy goals.
4. Accept fewer review commitments to give quality time to the ones I choose and to give time for other reading goals.
5. Support local library with at least one book check-out a month.
6. Read non-fiction how to and resource books on list.
7. Reduce purchased books and freebies to work on current TBR pile.

Thanks, Jeanne! I know they aren't earth changers, but I really want to do them. Appreciate your cheers! :)

Anna I think these are great goals, and I hope you accomplish them all! I know how hard it is to keep up with the goals made at the start of the new year. I made a few for myself (finish the first draft of my novel, exercise more, spend less time on my phone and more time reading so I can make a dent in my TBR), and we'll see how I do.

Happy New Year!!

Sophia Cheers, Anna!

Oh yep, it really is a 'see how we'll do' on these. They give me good direction. Wishing you luck on yours, too. And yay, a novel. :)

Sophia Yes, that is exactly what I want from my goals.

Thanks, Mary, you summed it up nicely.

Abigail Bok A pretty ambitious set of goals, Sophia! I’m especially delighted to hear about a completed manuscript and another far along! There goes my goal of whittling down my TBR . . .

Sophia Yes, its a tad ambitious, but I like setting tough goals. This will sound bad of me, but I don't get twitchy if I don't make all my goals. I do my best and I put it all in the planner, but not a problem if I can't or won't get there. Now that said, there are about five on my main list (including some of these) that are musts and are no matter whats. :)

Wishing you well on your goals for the year, too, Abigail. I know your writing project is important, but it will be neat if you had hit your TBR pile goal, too.
