Excellent author

Terrible Experience with The Lost Gate. Bought this book for a 12 year old boy who came to me to tell me the book was bad. He said there are multiple accounts of nudity and it made him feel sick. We are LDS, like the author professes to be, but if a book causes a good clean young man to feel ill and confess to his mom what he's read then it's trash. And no I have not read it. I don't need to. I should have read it before I bought it but I didn't and I should have read the reviews on GoodReads prior to purchasing it. Next time I will, two women reviewed it as inappropriate, so I guess I learned the hard way. So sorry for my son.

Everyone knows it is the job of the author to neatly entertain and adhere to the specific moral guidelines of all who may read their work.

You just sold another copy of The Lost Gate! Haha

He gave us a character who is heroic and yet soft spoken. A true paragon of military brilliance, but flawed. A boy and then a man who makes history through intelligence, but also commitment and hard work, keen instincs and a deep sense of justice, a bottomless well of compassion. I would hope many kids read Ender's story today, and learn what heroic truly means. We are all indebted to O S Card for showing us how a human being can work at becoming better, more decent, and bringing light and hope in the lives of others.
