So the first job of the writing day (after unsuccessfully trying to find a missing peacock that may have become fox-fodder over the snowy night) is that I need a name for my hero's mother. Sadly being a goblin she isn't really much of a parent and loathes the revolting boy she spawned along with his mysterious father. So a one-word name that sums up someone who is feared, loathed, horrible, aggressive, mad, smelly, repulsive, insular and dangerous. Wish me luck, and no I don't want anyone to suggest the name Pett thank you.
