BETA Readers Wanted Immediately

Beta Readers play an important role in the publishing of a new book. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the term, I’d like to explain exactly what a Beta Reader is (and can be).
In the words of Ernest Hemingway, “The first draft of anything is shit.” Harsh words, but very accurate. A Beta Reader is someone who enjoys reading and agrees to read an unpublished manuscript for the purpose of giving the writer constructive feedback.
Writing can be a long process that is generally done alone without much collaboration. This is the time when the author can find out what works, what doesn’t work, and what’s missing from a new point of view.
If you would like to Beta Read my manuscript, I would absolutely love to hear from you! There are just a few responsibilities that I would ask of all my Beta Readers:
Keep in mind that this is unpublished, which means it’s not ready for public release. So please keep your comments constructive and helpful with the intention of making the manuscript better.
Beta Readers are NOT editors – your main role is not to find and correct grammatical errors. A copy editor will be responsible for that. But if something jumps off the page, it’s always a good idea to mention it.
You must be willing and able to begin reading soon. Some readers power through a book in a few days, others will read casually for weeks at a time. This is one occasion where it is actually necessary to read the book relatively quickly (1-2 weeks).
For Indie Authors (self-published), reader reviews are critical to drive sales. I ask all my Beta Readers to give an honest review on Amazon. When potential readers see that a good number of others have taken the time to review the book, they are more likely to take a chance on purchasing a book from an author they’ve never read before.
After reading the bullet points above, if you’re interested in becoming a BETA Reader, please e-mail me your contact information and the format you would prefer (Kindle, MS Word, PDF) and I’ll get a manuscript out to you right away.
Thank you!
