I've come to the conclusion that it's not you that's the problem, it's me. You see, for almost six years, I've tried like hell to fit into the little box that is the "indie romance writer". At least by today's standards. I've tried to be overly accessible to my readers, I've tried to master the art of marketing in this crazy, hectic ever changing market, and I've tried to write as fast as my fingers (and life) would allow. To the point of nearly driving myself crazy.

I've cried. I've screamed. I've taken breaks from social media and writing all together. The frustration of not being able to "keep up" almost beat me. Almost. Then I remembered why I started writing and self-publishing in the first place. It wasn't to get an NYT title or rake in mounds of cash. It was never about hoards of fans or constant admiration from peers and readers. It was because I felt like I had a story to tell. A story that was unique to me and the people I was trying to attract as readers. I still do. Quite a few actually. I just have to do it in my own way. On my own terms. At my own pace. Which was the draw to self-publishing in the first place.

I can write a book in a few weeks, or glom onto what is trending and push out my rendition of the same old story, or... Hear me out... I can write he stories that I want to write and that, hopefully, you want to read. I can put exactly what I need to put into each and every book I write. Which means, you might have to wait a little while between releases, and I might not be online chatting books or keeping up with the latest drama on Facebook. I might be “offline” for a while because that's where I need to be to write. In a clear, undistracted head space. Which means I can assure that what I'm putting on paper is pure and authentically and completely me.

Don't get me wrong, I admire the writers that crank out those bestsellers month after month and find balance between real life and running a book empire. They are rock stars. But every writer has a process and mine is just different. With all of that being said, I hope that you'll be on the look out for my releases and give them an honest shot when you see them pop up on your screens... Even if it takes a little while for them to appear.

Now that I've got that off my chest... I'm really excited about my current project. A new series! The Letters is a three-book series of interconnected stand-alones that follows the lives of three women who are linked through the loss of their friend and a collection of letters she leaves behind for them.

Friendship, romance, and the learning to live without regret... ​​The first release, Dear Kate, is scheduled for June 2017.

Kate Beckett has always had a plan—get her professional life to the highest level, then focus on her personal life. She preferred things in a certain order and liked to check them off accordingly.

When her best friend loses her battle with cancer, Kate starts to wonder if maybe she's been living life all wrong. And, when letters from the dearly departed start to arrive, she is forced to take a look at her life and ask herself a very important question: “Are you happy?”

To honor her best friend's final wishes, Kate takes a chance in spontaneity that sends her straight into the arms of a man that was definitely not part of her plan. A man that is everything that makes her want to throw caution to the wind and live in the moment.

​Now she must decide if living a life with regrets is something she can do or if she's willing to shake things up for a chance at true love.
