Digby's Diary
Digby’s Diary was originally written as a children’s book, but is in fact suitable for all ages as is verified by some of the reviews which can be found on Digby’s personal page at my website http://www.edbirdbooks.com/digbys-dia...
You can also view the book trailer there and find more information about the book as well as reading the above-mentioned reviews. In addition you can read an excerpt from the book (the first two to three chapters).
I intend having Digby’s Diary produced in audio for those of you who don’t have time to actually read, but would love to hear the story. I’ve had some difficulty finding a suitable place to get this done, but I’m not one to give up so will persevere. In the interim, you can view/listen to the first chapter reading of Digby’s Diary at https://novelwritingfestival.com/2017...
It was Digby himself who inspired me to start writing because of his amazing personality. He is well remembered by all who met him with his dedication to a certain member of the fish family. He spent many hours sitting in front of the aquarium gazing relentlessly at a large black fish who deliberately swam across the length of that tank immediately Digby entered the room. Regrettably, that creature had apparently become as enamoured with Digby as he was with the fish, and so after Digby’s passing the ‘water creature’ survived only two more weeks before succumbing to loneliness…
Although Digby was obsessed with that fish, and spent very long periods of time sitting in front of the aquarium, he was an extremely regal dog and seldom walked anywhere - he pranced. I recall purchasing a very large cooker when we were having our kitchen refurbished, and because that item arrived before completion of the kitchen, it stood in the centre of the lounge floor for several weeks. Digby decided it must be a new aquarium so sat in front of that expansive oven door looking for a big black fish to materialize. It took quite a while before he realised that nothing was going to happen.
I’m sure many of you know of “Billy Bass” – a fish mounted upon a wooden plaque. “Billy” was equipped with a battery and periodically started wagging its tail. This motion caught Digby’s eye one day and he became engrossed as he watched it and waited for the next movement… he was thoroughly entertaining, our Digby, and is sorely missed to this day!
Digby’s Diary is available in paperback and a variety of e-book formats. You can find the purchase links at his personal page aforementioned.
