Happy summer

What a great time of year, being able to read in the sun again! I never thought the Minnesota winter would end, but it did (funny how that happens every year.) 2017 has been very strange, though, one of massive transition for me -- for those of you who don't know, my dear mother and writing partner PJ passed away in December after a long health struggle. She is so missed, every second of every day, but I continue writing about the Monkeewrench gang in her honor. Number nine is already in the can!

And even though PJ is no longer with us, she will be very present this year in the last works we wrote together: with the US paperback release of THE SIXTH IDEA June 27th (with a sneak-peek of NOTHING STAYS BURIED), and the hardcover release of NOTHING STAYS BURIED August 1st in the US, August 24th in UK/AUS/NZ. We also have a quirky, heartwarming Christmas fantasy entitled RETURN OF THE MAGI set to release electronically in the UK and territories later this year, more details to come. A pretty good send-off party for our very funny and very beloved gal!

I'm always available to answers any questions on Goodreads, and in the meantime, happy summer and very happy reading. (I certainly haven't forgotten all of you down-under, so I guess I should say happy winter?!) :)

Very best to you all,

Traci

Bobby Thank you, THANK YOU, Traci!! Wonderful message to us Monkeewrench fanatics. :-) But so sorry to hear about your mother. I'm sure she is pleased, though, that you will be continuing with the series -- surely she would want that. Looking forward to August 1st release!!

P.J. Tracy Hi Bobby,

Thanks for the note. I'm very sure PJ is pleased that Monkeewrench continues! She certainly continues to inspire me :)

Nancy I'm so sorry about your mother, Traci. I lost my own just over a year ago and my father a few months before that. I know the empty hole their deaths leave behind.
My very best wishes to you. I, too, am glad you will continue to honor her through the stories you both enjoyed tell so very well.

P.J. Tracy Dear Nancy,

My deepest sympathies to you on your recent losses. I hope that your heart is healing with a lifetime of wonderful memories. We will always miss them every day, but a friend recently told me as time passes our grief is replaced by love and gratitude.

Best to you,
Traci

Nancy Hi Traci,

Yes, I think that's very true. I still wish I could pick up the phone and call them though. I'm sure you know that feeling too.

My best to you too,
Nancy

Sonya Smith My deepest sympathies, Tracy. I lost my dad 5 years ago and we were as close as you and your mom seem to have been. But I can tell you with authority that your friend was indeed right about how our grief changes over into love and gratitude. Just give it time and don't try to rush your mourning process. Happy to hear about the her parting gift and the new books!

All the best,
Sonya

P.J. Tracy Dear Sonya,

Thanks so much for your very kind words and I am so sorry for your loss. I'm sure your father is still everywhere. When you're really close to someone, their spirit is very much present. PJ's is rather mischievous. The other day I was having lunch with an old friend and colleague of ours whom we hadn't seen in years. We ordered wine to toast PJ and the very competent waitress spilled a glass on our table as she was delivering it. She apologized profusely, cleaned up, and brought us an extra glass of wine on the house. We looked at the three wine glasses on our table, then at each other, both blurted out, 'PJ!' and started laughing! PJ always did love her wine, and I believe she wanted her own glass that day :)
