Long-time lurker, first-time blogger

Hi guys. Rick Gavin here. My first novel, Ranchero, will be out at the end of October. It was great fun to write, and I look forward to hearing from you about it. Find me here or on my Amazon author's page.

Stephen James Loved the book, checked it out from library. Liked it so much bought copy from ABE listed bookstore. I am from LA and the book is true to the South. Can't wait for the next book!

Rick Gavin Thanks, Stephen. It's great to hear that you enjoyed Ranchero. I just finished up the second one -- called Beluga -- and it'll be out next fall. More of Nick and Desmond doing what they do. Tell everybody you know with a sense of humor to give Ranchero a try.

Stephen James Thanks - Please advise if you have any book signing stops coming up.

Enjoyed the Sonic drive in spots. FYI Alexandria LA has 3 Sonics and 2 of them are beside WalMarts. It don't get better than that.

Kurt Just finished the book. The characters and geography are dead-on (and hilarious). Can't wait to read the next one. I have the feeling you won't be a "lowly sheet rocker" for too much longer, unless you just need the exercise.

Rick Gavin I do need the exercise, but I'd rather not get it. I'm delighted to hear you enjoyed the book, particularly the funny parts.

Patricia Tatro Excellent, clever story. You can plan to give up your day job. Looking forward to your next book. What's your dog's name.

Patricia Tatro I am always amazed at how an author can create people and situations from thin air. How did you do it. How did all these people and the story materialize. I understand that some it might cetainly might be pulled from day to day experience, but the dialogue and all the rest? I am in awe of that gift.

Rick Gavin Thanks for your kind words, and I'm delighted you enjoyed the book.
My dog's name is Karl, and he's a Malinois (though he doesn't seem to know that).
