Reading and Writing

Nearly half-way through American Gods, finally losing myself in the story. (Is it sick that his wife is my favorite right now?)
Since I started writing i find it harder to get lost in the story right away. That was never a problem before.
I'm usually studying the book, looking for ways to improve, and I find myself analyzing the writer's style.

I hate it.

Do other writers have the same problem?

Anyway, a quarter of the way into Saga of the Sunslinger and I like it better than the Revelations book. I'm concentrating more on the two main characters and I like it. Also, I discovered "the character interview"...a big help. (Damn rookie, you're thinking.)

PS I've never read a blog in my life (scanned through some quickly) and probably not gonna start now. But it was recommended I start one on the hopeful-chance (it, I and/or my books) start to matter someday. I'm not sure what the point of mine is yet other than some mindless ramblings and a progress report from time to time.

I would tell you to stay awhile, take a load off and enjoy yourself, but honestly all I keep thinking is, you're probably a nice person...you don't deserve this...
Run! Run for your life! Go, get to da choppah!
