The actual month that my book "The Driver" will be available to the public has arrived. Books come in a series of waves of reality: first there was the edit from Dutton, then an Advanced Reading Copy (which is a cheap mock-up of the book -- which made my wife cry because she thought it was the final book) and just a week or so ago an actual hardcover copy of the book, which almost made me weep for joy -- which would have been embarrassing because it was given to me by my crack team at Dutton -- Jessica Renheim (Editor), Elina Vaysbeyn (Marketing) and Jamie Knapp (Publicity) -- all of whom are much younger than me and might not react well to a grown man weeping.
I'd better stop this for now. That was an incredibly long-winded run-on sentence.
