“To me, mean girls have always been ambitious young women who were told to divert their expression of that drive into the least healthy avenues: through their looks, over boys, and into popularity. I wanted to look at those girls from the inside out, and to see if they could find healthy ways to express their creativity, their loyalty, and their ambition.”
