EXPANSION Flowing out before me – while approaching -In the sweeping motion of a grand gesturePresenting its soulful sweetness.Behind me is a small desert I’ve crossed - shoelessWhile carefully stepping over the littered offerings.Salt saturates my sensesAs the gentle-wind styles my hair,With the latest sea breeze fashion.My eyes are opened to new possibilitiesWith a window into its wonders,With every wave that greets my feet,The sun soaks into my skinCradling me in its warmth and completing the moment.I stand in awe before the substantial seaObserving its vast expansion of life-That I’m humbly a part of.


The birds fill the treesSinging their goodnightsAs I pull on a sweaterIn a shiver from the receding light.
The setting sun is a time of reflectionOf the night and of the dayA balance of both places
In the sunset’s doorway.
