As Wade stepped onto the back patio, he was immediately drawn to the golden-haired beauty in the yellow sundress. Ashley looked more stunning every time he saw her. Her lovely features shined with delight as she chuckled at something the man next to her said. Wait, man? Having been captivated by Ashley’s appearance and the sound of her throaty chuckle, Wade hadn’t noticed the man standing next to her with his arm draped over her shoulders. Reid.
      He felt like he’d swallowed a boulder. Its heavy weight pulled deep in the pit of his stomach and anger swirled inside him. His breath became harsh and shallow and his hands curled involuntarily into fists, just aching to punch the smirk right off Reid’s stupid face. He watched as Reid removed his arm from her shoulders, only to lace his fingers with hers as they stared deep into each other’s eyes, an alluring blush coloring her lovely face. Get your hands off of her. She’s mine. His sudden possessiveness surprised him. For a moment, it almost felt like he had feelings for Ashley.
