The Art of Jack Vettriano
As I said in my recent post 5 Things That Inspire Me, art has always been something that has enhanced my creativity.
Fetish by Jack Vettriano (2016)When I write, I like to be able to imagine things so intricately that sometimes having a visual aid can really move along the experience. This is exactly one of the reasons why I absolutely LOVE Pinterest - I think it is a fantastic tool for writers to create mood boards for each different project they are working on. (I'll blog about that another time :) don't worry!)
But in the meantime, art.
It is a topic that has divided many over the years, and has caused some of the most hotly anticipated auctions and private sales in history. In what other market could a single painting sell for over $110 Million!?
All art is subjective, much like writing itself, but when it comes to creating my red, hot romances, I love nothing more than scanning through the works of Jack Vettriano. For a man who didn't begin painting until the 1970's as a hobby, he sure knows how to capture the intimacy, urgency and passion behind the art of love, lust and seduction.
Game On by Jack Vettriano (2006) from the Love, Surrender & Devotion CollectionHis portrayals beautifully capture one of the most private and unique of human experiences, and for that I think his works deserve to be shared far and wide.
If any of you aren't familiar with this master and his incredible paintings, then look him up now!
Jack Vettriano is an extraordinary talent, one that will surely inspire other artists and writers for generations to come.
