Just got back from Bouchercon 2017, AKA the World Mystery Convention in Toronto. If you've never been to a book convention I highly recommend it.
"Collecting the Dead" was nominated for the Barry Award for Best Thriller, and the award was handed out during the opening ceremonies, along with many others. Joseph Finder won, but I really don't mind losing to him since he's a great writer and a really nice guy.
Stood in a few lines for autographs (Louise Penny, Kathy Reichs, et al), and I also sat on the Fact vs Fiction panel. I really fit on both sides of that panel since I write crime fiction, and also work as a crime analyst.
All-in-all it was a great time. I meet some great people and made some new friends. Now I'm thinking about going to Left Coast Crime in Reno in March.
