Well, I've done it, haven't I, I clicked 'skip' on the author question tab, thinking 'I'll get back to that', only to find that I couldn't. Once skipped, it stays skipped for good, there's no going back.
The question/task in question was to tell a 'two-sentence horror story' for #Horrorweek here on Goodreads, and while Horror's not really the genre I write in, I'll give you my two-pennies' worth - nay, my two-sentence'-worth - anyway.
Here goes:
“The next one is going to get me,” she said, perching on the branch of a poplar tree, holding on for dear life, “because despite everything we’d been told by our scientists – ‘doom prophets’ as some cretins called them – some idiots went ahead and did it regardless, triggering the Domino Disaster that, once started, found its stride, accelerated from there and rolled over the lands, devastating everything in its path, and everyone, leaving only me, the last to tell the tale, and nobody to listen.”
She was right, of course, in every way, and the next wave came and carried her off.
