My method of writing is my own. I have discovered I have my own format of events which leads to a finished and (hopefully) published novel.
Ideas...these are easy for me. I have a treasure chest of ideas and concepts for many fantasy and science fiction tales. I love the first concept of a solid story idea. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy.
Characters...are surpeme in my process. There are only so many plots in the universe. A great character holds your attention, be they good or evil. I like to focus on heroines in my tales. Not enough solid female heroines.
Organization....I develop compendiums in notebooks with colorful stickers and labels. Each novel has the list and bio of characters, the world, religions, geography, politics, and more. I love putting together my compendiums.
Writing..first chapter is hard. Then the period of rough drafts and dawdling followed by inspiration and a self-imposed deadline where I write madly and drink way too much coffee.
Editing...it is necessary and cruel, but a good solid edit makes for strng storytelling.
Submission is a cruelty we all must endure. That is another story.
