Life has a funny way of reprioritizing your daily routines.  I had the passing of an important person in my life two years ago. About a year ago, I added another family member to my pseudo-wolf posse, a Japanese Chin, known as ShiShi. He is the most child-like pup I’ve ever reared. He has lifted me up in more ways than one, but also kept me on my toes. I have to say, now that the weather is getting cooler, I am a bit obsessed with dressing him in little sweaters.
Over Thanksgiving, I reacquainted myself with my Science Fiction novel, Icharus. I made it about halfway through a true first edit, and then I went back to my day job. My hope is to complete the first complete edit by the end of December. It is about 65,000 words or 250 pages, roughly half the page count of Palladium. You would think with a shorter novel it would be quicker to edit – not true. This novel is a complete departure from my steampunk series and world building takes time. It took me over two years to write Tesla’s Revenge because of that. I began writing this book with over ten pages of reference notes, including planetary notations and character building.
I wanted to say thank those who have followed me or are now discovering my novels. I hope you enjoy them and I hope to have this novel out for the world soon. The college student, aka eldest daughter, is yelling at me to take my the animal child, ShiShi, out of their room because he is getting into to trouble.
