I’m calling this blog “Flatsnake - From Scratch.” Reason being, most of these thoughts will be coming directly from my unreliable mind or will be nuggets from elsewhere passed along. These thoughts are not necessarily backed by fact or logic. So, beware:

Andy Rooney retired yesterday proclaiming he was a writer first and foremost. Seventy years writing for a living, and his infinite appearances were essentially Andy reading his own writing. He summoned our marginal thoughts and placed them in a cranky synopsis we could normally nod our heads at. Well done, Andy.

After my beloved girls’ soccer team, Thunder, kept their undefeated streak alive this weekend, it struck me that a poorly coached talented team trumps a well coached good team surprisingly often. Doesn’t this go against what we are taught?

The results of Amanda Knox’s appeal will supposedly be revealed in a few hours. How long has this woman been sitting in prison while the Italian wheels of justice slip and slide in the mud? Four years? I guess the right to a speedy trial is not part of the Italian code of justice. This has to be maddening for her parents. Amanda, if you are innocent, you have been gravely mistreated.

Does everything in this world have a fatal flaw?
