Here in Maine, we've been elbow deep in the preparing for snow season. Nothing more important in our world this time of year then a full hay shed for the horses and a full wood shed for us. Now we are ready to hunker down for the winter.

Last night was our first snow. A beautiful little storm that left a light and fluffy couple of inches and a winter wonderland feeling. Something I don't have when mother nature drops a wet and heavy couple of feet on us, like almost every storm we had last winter!

This is quite exciting in a way. Though it's been a busy year and I'm proud to say, December marked one full year on my veterinary column in the town newsletter. Snow means the outside work is ready to slow way down and I will have much more time to sit and work on my fiction again.
