Saving Grace

Saving Grace by A.D. Justice

It seems the safe book patrol has found Saving Grace.

Thank you for pointing out the obvious. Actually, my book is about so much more. It's about forgiveness and love. It's about strength and understanding. It's about seeing your faults, admitting them, then correcting them. It's about living each day to the fullest because you never know when it'll be your last. If your final message is "I don't forgive," that's a very sad life. I understand that not everyone gets this, yet, I'm hopeful that so many will be able to comprehend the underlying messages in the story.

Life isn't black and white. Love isn't black and white. Choices aren't black and white. What you've hypothetically sworn you'd never do could change when you're actually faced with the predicament. No one ever said love and marriage and family would be easy. The only one-sided marriages are in fictional books.

So, again, thank you for pointing out the obvious. But this story isn't about cheating. It doesn't glorify infidelity. The heroine isn't a doormat. This book is for those readers who are capable of seeing the grey. If you can't, this book isn't for you, and that's okay too.

Bev Amen!

The Sassy Bookworm I agree with your blog post 100% that life isn't black and white, and sometimes that grey area makes for the best types of reads. I am not a fan of cheating in my books, but I have read books with cheating that I ended up loving. Every book is different, as is every reader.

My main issue with a post like this is, it never does an author any favors to call people or a group of people out for their opinions. It is never going to reflect positively on you as an author. Right or wrong that is simply a fact. People are going to hate this book because of the cheating, and they are going to be very vocal about it. Being snarky because of that is just going to earn you an "author behaving badly" rep and your not going to change anybody's mind anyway, so why put yourself in that position to begin with? Make like Elsa and...LET IT GO. (lol)
