Goblins!!!
Blimmey, back again. Editing is an amazing process, and has thrown up several issues that need to be tweaked or mashed in the rewriting process, which I've just restarted in earnest. It all seems to take a long time but is well worth it, having fresh critical eyes (as many as possible) going over this has brought out several interesting issues about numbers of characters, use of sympathy for some of the major players and a number of other minor tweaks and issues. Fascinating and it wouldn't be possible without some amazingly helpful and kind friends to help so thank you to them, you know who you are.
Chief amongst suggestions is to draw back on the number of characters, it's not easy removing names that make me laugh but it's a very fair point; something I've now noticed in books I read is the focussing of main characters and how great books often have a very clear focus right from the off. So again thank you wonderful editors and chums for that.
Not being a Paizo-approved product also raises some interesting IP issues which I've hopefully hammered out so that it's clearly all Pett goblins and maintains the basis of the first draft I did many years ago.
It's also awesome for people to visit the blog, so thank you for reading, I hope these posts will see the conclusion and publication of the book in the coming months but for anyone starting out or moving ahead with writing a book - which you should absolutely do - be prepared for a long run with lots of strange doorways to pass through on the way.
I'm also hoping to self publish a few gaming adventures this year which will be Blight compatible dark urban stories with a twist of Between, heh heh.
Whatever you're up to through these fine pages good luck to you, and thank you for taking a minute to read my ramblings.
