Defender of the Hell Key [WIP-opening paragraphs]

The moonlight always brought out the demons. They were attracted to the brilliant glow of the full moon. With more evil in the world, the easier it was for the devil spawns to walk on the earth between Heaven and Hell. If it wasn’t for the Gate and the Key that keeps it locked, demons would have control of The Five Kingdoms. Kyra knew how important it was to protect that Key, but at the moment her focus was on protecting the innocent villagers from the monsters that came up from Hell to fed.

Kyra starred the fiery beast down. The heat that come off it scorched everything around it. The village burnt, and the people living there were losing all of it. Kyra had to stop it before there was no chance of rebuilding. It spit fire at her, but she covered herself with her shield, and started to run. It pursued. Kyra had the perfect place to end it. She stopped, turned, and flung one of her throwing spikes to its eye. He roared loudly, its force vibrated the ground. Now that it was distracted, she slung her large, round shield at the water tower it was under. The shield lodged into the wood. There was a second where nothing happened, but then the pressure was too much, and the tank burst, sending all the water pouring onto the demon. He cried as its fiery body was extinguished. Kyra sighed in relief as the beast vanished from existence.
