Hi Goodreaders!

Here's the short form:

I started drawing comics when I was 11.

I have an MA in philosophy--big fat load of good THAT did me. Seriously, to this day, I read a lot of philosophy when I can--way into Kantian idealism. It's one of the more important things about me.

For about 18 years I was an inker (and sometimes penciller and colorist) for DC Comics.

I've published two art instruction books--I'm proud of them both, but far more excited about my debut graphic novel:

THE FURNACE

which is being published by Tor Books in July of 2018.
It's about the pitfalls of parenting, the things we try to shield our kids from and impress on them, the horrors of solitary confinement, guilt and learning to forgive oneself, and a whole lot besides. It's science-fiction, set in 2053.

THE FURNACE was a labor of love for seven years--having it published in a beautiful color edition by Tor is far above and beyond what I had envisaged for the book. My deepest wish is that general readers see in it what Diana Pho, my editor at Tor, saw in it.

I read a lot--fiction, philosophy, science-fiction, graphic novels, pop science, history, paranormal subjects. Some of my favorite authors: William Faulkner, Robert Heinlein, Ira Levin, Sinclair Lewis, Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke, Jack Finney, Richard Matheson, David Mitchell, to name a few.

I have three kids! I love to swim. I love seeing movies with my beloved wife of 26 years, Jackie--good, bad, indifferent, we're a couple of total movie hos, we'll watch it.

I live with my family in London. One advantage of the UK over the US: mixed sweet and salty popcorn at the movies. Bliss.

More later. Thank you for reading!! My website is www.prentisrollinsart.com. facebook: @FurnaceGN
