Well, as of October 10, 2011, I can finally say I am a published author! =D When I found out Firefly and Wisp chose my short story, the Spirit Caller, to be in their Paranormal Anthology, well I didn't stop crying for an hour. Then after I was consoled, I was shaking and almost fainted. Then after THAT I just couldn't have been happier in my life than I was in that moment. It was almost strange to see my name on the list. I think that I reread it at least 15 times before it sank in that I actually did it. I remember not thinking I had a chance in hell in getting in, since I was so new, never had anything published, never even wrote a full length story or ANYTHING! I never thought I could actually say 'Yeah, I got a story published!' and be lying about it to impress someone. Even now when I say it, I still don't feel like it's true and I'm waiting for F&W to be like 'Haha, j/k, we hated it!'

As you can see I don't have much faith in myself as a writer. I know I'm good, but good isn't always 'good enough', so to say. You could be a good runner, but that doesn't mean you'll make it into the Olympics. Writing is my forte, but sometimes I wonder if it can be my career?

But what I'm really here to say is that no matter what, never give up on your dreams. If you believe in yourself, anything you can imagine will come true. If you work hard, you'll suceed. It's as simple as that. Once I started to believe that I could finish that story, I did, and before I could doubt myself I sent it in. And it got published. If you refuse to give up, there is nothing that can stop you.

I'm going to end this with a question: Do you believe that your dreams can come true?
