The Key Question.
The basic problem that everyone runs into when it comes to the genesis of the universe is simple: how do you get something from nothing.
Conventional wisdom says that nothing comes from nothing.
But, then, more something does not come from something. Changes occur but “creation” is the basic conundrum.
So the existence of the universe and all its contents has no “logical” beginning nor an easily explicable reason for its presence.
The basic fact is this: the universe exists. The logical (common sense) conclusion: at some point the universe came into existence.
One can enter into a construct where the universe is considered perpetual, has no beginning and no end. This is useful because it sidesteps the pesky question of how it came to be.
To get more primary, or more technical; space must exist before objects. Simply because an object, to exist, requires space to exist in. Objects also require time. Timelessness is more than no motion. Taken to the atomic or subatomic level motion is necessary to structure. Cessation of motion means the collapse of structure.
So we need space and time to support objects and energies.
Of course, maybe space was always here.
The religionist solves the problem by saying “God did it.”
The atheist and scientist really have a problem. Because the universe has no logical reason for being or observable point of inception, but is observably, stubbornly here!
The absurdity of the “Big Bang” is laughable as a primary source. Where did the Bang come from? To say nothing of the space it needed. The Bang Majeure created its own space? Oh lovely! We’ve got it!
Waxing philosophical one could assume that because the universe exists, at one time the knowledge of “how to make a really nice universe with lots of good stuff in it” existed. And populated it with people who could romp and frolic about and generally have a good time but sometimes stub a toe.
So, again, how does one get something from nothing? Before the universe existed, it wasn’t. And then it was!
So, it was made by something/someone/someone’s who know how to make a universe.
Seems logical/common-sencical to me.
