A lot of people have asked me why and how co-writing a novel happens. Here’s my bullet-list answer.

Once upon a last-year, I met a author online, the talented, multi-published Candace Robinson.
Once upon a last-year, we talked and talked about co-authoring a book.
Once upon a last-year, we agreed to co-write a quirky YA contemporary novel.
Once upon a winter, we finished writing our book.
Once upon a still-winter, Evernight Teen Press acquire it!
The result? BACON PIE.

This sounds like a fairy tale, but it isn’t. It’s HARD work–harder than we thought: Constant brainstorming, critiquing each other’s chapters, re-writing.

“Oops!” and “Ohs?” and “Whats?”

But we did it! To celebrate our accomplishment, we backed a virtual bacon pie and ate it. Who said you can’t have your cake and eat, too? Er, well pie isn’t exactly a cake, but it’s a kind of cake? Maybe?
