Synopsis
Ray DeAngelo is a pilot in the United States Army Air Force during World War II. He pilots the B-17 bomber also known as the Flying Fortress. On a bombing mission over North Africa his plane is shot down. He is the sole survivor of the plane and he is rescued in the Mediterranean Sea by a Sicilian fisherman. Nurtured back to health by the fisherman daughter, he finds himself trapped on an island occupied by the enemy. At first he tries to fit in because he can speak the language fluently. As the war lingers on and the allied forces start to gain momentum, things start to get dicey.
