On Grief: A Son Copes with his Father’s Death
Recently my brothers and I attended a veteran's memorial service at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center (Bronx, NY). In a way it was like telling our dad goodbye again, but in another way we found a community. I wrote an article about the experience for Philadelphia Gay News that explores not just the day and my feelings but grief in general. Hope you'll give it a read.

Wow, thank you for inviting us to read your article and your story with your own father and you are so right grief can be a heavy load to carry around. Today is Mother's Day and it still grieves me that I can't talk and share things with my mom and it's been years since she passed. Her and I shared a passion for reading that's how I was able to read and appreciate your books Mr. Benjamin. Thanks again for sharing your story and dream!!

Thanks so much for taking the time to read and for reaching out to share your own story. I understand hwo you miss talking to your mom. When he was in the hospital Dad and I used to watch soap operas together. He'd explain the characters and the plots to me. He seemed to enjoy that.
