What 2018 means to You
Like many previous years, we all will be wishing ritually – A Happy New Year 2018 – to all our friends and relatives through videos, text or catchy creatives.
Great….
“What 2018 means to me?” This thought flashed through my mind while hosting a New Year Party for my organization on 29th Dec.
I am happy to share my next day’s contemplation with the hope it will help you too, to explore, What 2018 means to You?
We all have some plans, some wishes, and some goals to achieve on a daily/monthly/yearly basis. And to get what we want, we need many of Natural, Human and Capital Resources e.g. Money, Health, Knowledge, conducive Environment, Skills, Support, and many more.
The quantitative and qualitative availability of such resources may vary from person to person and place to place. But there is one resource, every living entity is having in the same quantity-n-quality irrespective of academic, economic, educational or geographical background.
And this precious resource is TIME.
Unlike other resources, we can’t produce, store, or buy Time. Also, we can’t stop its’ consumption. The total sum of Time resource is getting shrunk on every passing second without any indication of the days/hours left in our Life’s Account.
The only freedom we have is to spend Time, the way we wish.
Here comes our intelligence, our experience, and our insights to utilize – the naturally blessed and the most precious resource – TIME.
Generally, we give more importance to the resource – Money – which is quite right, but using our intelligence and guidance to utilize Time wisely – we can earn much more.
Lord Krsna says in Bhagavad Gita (Ch#11, Verse#32), कालोऽस्मि….I am the Time.
By giving full importance and respect to our Time and spend it wisely, we are worshiping GOD even without visiting any worship-able places in person.
I am not stating here to be fanatic and do not engage in any recreation or social or relaxing activity or a hobby. Just be relaxed and accept in full earnest that it is not possible to keep an account for every single minute or hour of our day.
I am advocating a small exercise which will help us evaluate our current day and plan the coming one.
Before going to bed, try to write a Day-Log for 5 minutes. Rate your day in terms of utilizing the Time, prioritizing the tasks to achieve your daily goal.
By giving full respect and importance to OUR TIME, we can make 2018 a beautiful Year – a year to be proud of.
