i remember discovering your book Dark Prince years and years ago as a teenager (well a young adult lady who had just discovered romance novels!) in a tiny department book store in australia ...looking back it would have been just at the start of your career and as a reader and avid life long bookworm i must say you literally changed my world - your voice brought to life the story, i had never read a style like yours ever before and i've followed your career since then and am a long term fan of your amazing talent and to this day i'm so glad i took a chance on a new author xxx

Great article. Looking forward to reading Dark Sentinel....and hoping....it won't be the last book in that great series--it's a modern day classic. Have a great day.

Thank you CJ!
About 15 years ago a woman and borders bookstore handed me a Sherrilyn Kenyon novel Christine Feehan followed quickly on the heels of that novel. Since then I have read Gena Showalter Karen Marie moning Lori Foster. I regularly keep up with all of the office and have read almost all of their books. I really do enjoy this genee. I have read all of Christine Feehan's books and I love all of her different series. I look forward to reading the rest of them.
I want to thank you for many hours of joyful reading and let you know how you have made a difference in my life. I grew up reading pretty much only Sci-Fi and Fantasy, and I didn’t have alot of spending money so was mostly limited to what happened to be shelved at my small local library. As you can imagine, it wasn’t long before I exhausted the possibilities, so I made periodic attempts to become interested in other genres. I know this dates me, but the Paranormal Romance genre was only starting to gain steam at the time, and romance writers were still figuring out what they doing so many of the early crossovers into speculative fiction (and vice versa) were just painful. Those encounters did *not* impress me, and I found pure Romance a yawn-fest. So the Romance section was something of a last resort, and my second attempt would probably have failed as miserably as the first if I hadn’t come across your Carpathian series. The premise intrigued me for reasons beyond the paranormal element. You see, I have a condition that, long story short, drains my physical and mental energy levels, which in turn often drains my emotional energy and ability to feel - and too often what I could feel is depression. (I’m doing better overall these days.) So the idea of a race of beings who lose their emotions over time and must find a way to live on and maintain their honor struck a very deep chord. Gregory’s story especially so: like him, I struggled to see myself as worthwhile. He fought for life because he was needed by his people. I fought for life because I didn’t want to hurt my family.
Point is, you showed me that Romance could be about more than boy-meets-girl, and that it could be done with the same imaginative fun as I had found in Sci-Fi/Fantasy. You opened up a genre for me that has given me alot of joy and comfort over the years. More, you helped open an imaginative landscape - I always have five or so story ideas running through my head at a time - that would have been far less vibrant without you. So thank you for sharing your gift and your stories, and for paying forward the good advice you have gotten. Writers like you are my inspiration.
P.S. Would you belive I’m actually writing a Pride & Prejudice variation now? Truth is indeed stranger than fiction. ;)
I'm not a writer but my Mom used to write the silly/crazy poems that she always wished could be published. Anyway she passed away many years ago and I heard about this site (Lulu.com I believe) publish your own books so i decided to type up all her poems and make a book for her. I added a little dedication in the beginning for my Mom and a poem I wrote about her at the end. When I got those like 10 free copies in the mail it was so amazing. I was able to give my sister's and brother a copy for Christmas that year. It was a great memory of our Mother. That is nothing compared to you or any author having their first book published.... it had to be so wonderful and thrilling!! Congrats on all you books, they are so wonderful!!!
