How to Approach Exposition in Sci-Fi Novels
This just popped up in Writer’s Digest and is a great quick read on how to handle exposition. Speculative Fiction (SF) or SyFy and Fantasy or whatever you want to call it these days is definitely unique in this challenge when it comes to writing. A master of the field, Orson Scott Card does a nice job breaking it down in this excerpt from his novel. Arguably he does it better than I did here. Of course, one might wonder how you can really explain this without chain gun wielding mutant bunnies.
I won’t try add more to what Mr Card delivers here, because how could I? (aside from to maybe add a buffalo with a flamethrower?)
If you’re writing , this is definitely worth a read.
