POEM: Instead

I wish I had said something else insteadbut I buried my unspoken, rage-filled words in my chest;Better to pretend, it's easier in the end,and at least choking on the unspoken words is a slow going death.Whereas if I spew out all the poison insideI'll drown quickly in the leftover dregs, but then I risk being rescued and I can't do this again. And I'm frightened to death of where I'd be without a pen,and so I keep on keeping on, even though I feel lost inside my own head.
Procrastinating is keyplanning is my release, avoiding the inevitable, instead, hiding my intent.
