Helped by kind humans, tormented by others, Rover forms timely friends, learns about her new role, and discovers the origin of her situation. This little book shows the best and worst of humanity, with a dose of luck, magical intervention, hope and humor. It can be read to children but some words should be read around, otherwise it is great for adult and child alike. My only suggestion would be to revamp the cover, I assumed it was for a younger age group and a much simpler tale. Instead, I was happily surprised with a wonderfully nerve wracking journey.
