My favourite way of picking something to read outside of my usual interests is picking something semi-random at the airport bookstore. This time the reviews mentioning "unreliable narrator" caught my attention - because this is very lifelike. Who of us is reliable anyway? It's just when many people around are unreliable in a similar way, they think of themselves as reliable.
