Sometimes when you want to find something you need to know when to stop looking.”
Summary
12 year-old Elizabeth Harding has a difficult life. While still coming to terms with her father’s unexpected death, she has to deal with nights filled with terrifying nightmares and days of being bullied at school. And portal to another dimension opening in her bedroom is not going to make things easier for her.
Writing
I have to say I really enjoyed the writing style. It was very informal and light, easy and fun to read. The only thing I had a small issue with were the onomatopoeias. There were quite a lot of them, especially in the beginning. They were kind of silly and instead of helping me with imagining the sound, they were somehow making it even harder. I don’t know about you, but I have never heard anything make a “clunketta-clunketta-thrummm” sound.
