Writing is the balm that healed me, and, at the same time, satiated my incessant need to put words to paper. That’s how it began—the magic of stirring emotions in people fabricated from my imagination, building worlds, playing God. It was such an electrifying thrill and remains so today. As time went on, I discovered what a miraculous venue it is to be heard. This gift unfurled a platform where others could hear my voice. It is so very empowering as a woman to be heard, to have your words undergo a metamorphosis, grow wings, and fly out into the world. The miracle is where those words land. It turns out that readers were the true desire of my heart. The gift within the gift. Connecting with others, learning that my books have touched people, in even a remote sense, is both humbling and exhilarating. There is no greater joy than to wake up and know that I will love this day because I love what I do. It’s as if God Himself spilled twenty-six letters at my feet and said use them.
And I will.
