The Tess Holliday Cosmopolitan cover has me feeling very conflicted. On the one hand, I think it's good that bigger girls will be able to see themselves reflected on a national magazine cover. And I also think that people who don't like the image are mainly being negative because they don't like the way Tess looks. If she were very underweight, or an alcoholic, or a smoker, that would also be unhealthy, but these people most likely wouldn't say anything about that.
On the other hand, I know that it's unhealthy being a size 22, and I'm desperately trying to lose weight so I don't ever reach that size. So I genuinely don't know whether it's a positive thing overall to normalise obesity or not.
