In the Arts section of the Times last Saturday, there was a fascinating review of the Mantegna and Bellini exhibition which opens on October 1st. The two page article illustrated and discussed several paintings which are mentioned in The Pumilio Child and also explained about the rivalry between Mantegna and the Bellini brothers which my wonderful reviewers know all about!
The exhibition is on at the National Gallery in London and I am combustible with excitement.
I have two free tickets to anyone who might be interested and would be very happy to show the lucky pair around the exhibition, though as I make clear at the front of the novel, I am not an art historian, simply someone with a Mantegna obsession. First come, first served.
I know the venue will preclude a lot of people, and I apologise for that, but you never know, when I am next on a trip, it might be to a gallery near you... Good wishes, Judy.
