"It's a girl" said the doctor softly as he showed the new born to him outside the operation theatre somewhat dampening his joy of being a father.
"Congratulations" said his mother standing beside him, they hugged each other.

The feeling of being a father temporarily overran the issue of being the father of a daughter as wishes started to pour in from everywhere. It took him a while and a little persuasion from his parents to finally thank God.
"Hello?" He said receiving his boss's call, "Its a girl" he said waiting for boss's reaction, "Dont worry dear, girl or a boy both are equal in these times, give my regards to your wife too"

A little later his elder brother, father of two sons arrived carrying a box of sweets just as
the mother of the new born was being wheeled into the room from ICU.

'What logic O God? Could this not have been a boy? Why a female child? He thought feeling an imaginary burden on his back already as he stood in the center of the room with his mother on one side and his wife on the other. The two people who loved him and whom he loved the most ●
