There is a pharmecudical commercial where the opening lines are: "It's a normal day for Alice. And that's how she likes it."



And that line got me thinking:



When did we become so apathetic towards normal days?

I ask my husband how his day at work was and his reply, "the same."

Regular coffee-goers order their "usual" order to go.

I put on the same turquoise uniform for work at Disney.

It's mundane. Nothing out of the ordinary. We do it without thinking. We drive the same route. We set the same time every day to wake us up. Our cereal is waiting on the shelf when we get up. It's the same thing.



It's the things we pass by. The things we take for granted. The things we depend on. The little things we build our life around.



It's a normal day…and that is indeed... how we like it!



We should be so thankful and so grateful that we have the same friends we grab a bite to eat with…that we have the car we complain about...…we should be satisfied with living in the normal every-day!



Because what you have, some would love and would do anything to have.



You don't know how blessed you are! You don't know how much you possess! You don't know the things you received effortlessly, others had to work for. Things you have people still don't have!



So next time, you complain about work on the house, the noisy kids, the aloof husband or the issues on the job…take a moment to pause. It's the little things you have that make life so blessed!
