BLASTS FROM THE PAST!

Having a terrific and unexpectedly wonderful time reconnecting with friends and relatives from the old nabe -- Elmhurst, Queens -- since the publication of BAD CALL.
First was an EMT Capt. from Inwood who was delegated by a former St. John's hospital contingent to see if I was writing about THEIR St. John's [there were four or five!] I was indeed, and he sent me a terrific photo of some of my fellow workers, shot a couple of years after I left, circa 1972-3! I recognized Lenny, Jose, Big Al and Andy.
I THOUGHT I also recognized my cousin George and it turned out it was him -- we've since gotten in touch. He worked at St. John's a coupe of years after I did, then became an EMT and later an RN specializing in emergency medicine. Spoke with him on the phone yesterday after many years. It was great to reconnect!!! We were quite the mischief makers in our day. Can't wait to see who else I get to reconnect with. TTYL. m
