Favourites from Austen Adaptations

Last weekend I binge-watched all six Jane Austen adaptations, Becoming Jane, and Jane Eyre.

๐ŸŽžMy favourite part from Becoming Jane:

At the end, when Jane and Tom meet after who knows how many years, and they're all so mature and sedated and he's even married, but you see him look at her like she's still the best thing on earth, and then you hear that he named his daughter after her... ๐Ÿ˜ญ

๐ŸŽžMy favourite part from Emma:

Obviously the proposal scene...

And, when Emma unwittingly hurts Miss Bates by saying that she doubts that Miss Bates could only say three dull things, and Mr. Knightley so gallantly asks Miss Bates to join him in picking some more strawberries. What a gentleman... ๐Ÿ˜Š sigh โค
Gwyneth Paltrow version

๐ŸŽžMy favourite part from Mansfield Park:

The adorable relationship between Fanny Price and her brother William. I wish I had an elder brother. ๐Ÿ˜
Hayley Atwell, Billie Piper, and James D'Arcy version

๐ŸŽžMy favourite part from Northanger Abby:

Every single time when Henry Tilney teases Catherine Morland, and then gives her a cute, reassuring smile. ๐Ÿ˜

๐ŸŽžMy favourite part from Sense and Sensibility:

Edward Ferras paying attention to and playing with Margaret Dashwood.
Hugh Fraser, Ella Thompson, Kate Winslet version

๐ŸŽžMy favourite part from Persuasion:

The way Captain Wentworth looks at Anne when she's absorbed in something else, and the moment she glances at him, he looks away. It's so obvious that he still adores her, despite his anger.
Rupert Penry-Jones version

๐ŸŽžMy favourite part from the 2005 Pride and Prejudice:

I love the way Mr. Darcy comes with Mr. Bingley to break the ice (as it's been a while since Jane and Mr. Bingley have met) and then leaves with him and sort of practices the proposal with him. Then he waits outside in case Bingley's proposal doesn't go according to plan, and only when he's sure that Bingley's all right, he walks away, a little regretfully, probably because his mind is on Lizzie and he's unaware of her changed feelings.

This all started because of Mr. Darcy's kindness, and I thought that instead of only writing about him, I would write a favourite part of mine from all the adaptations I watched.

๐ŸŽžMy favourite part from the 2011 Jane Eyre:

When Jane's trying to sketch Edward and he keeps trying to see and she has to keep swatting his hand away.
I know that this isn't Austen, but I watched it too, so...

The End
