The Phoenix Effect Publication

My first novel, THE PHOENIX EFFECT, is out now! As it is such a profound step forward, I’d like to share some words for the occasion.
I try my best to understand what a book is, searching in multiple places for the answer: I spent three years studying English Literature; wrote and read countless books and essays; even taught myself book-binding to understand the mechanics of books physically and philosophically. Self-publishing this book, and trilogy, is I believe another step in these studies. From typography and cover-creation to marketing and publicising, everything is part of an education of a greater goal I will probably always aim towards. It is quite symbolic that just as I have started working on this book halfway through my first year of university, I am publishing it half a year after I finished my degree.
This is my first finished book. I wrote first drafts before, I wrote second and third drafts, but this is the first one that is meant to be the published. It was clear after the first draft, it was clear after my beta-readers read it, after the edits, after the thirty-one publisher rejections. I have three other books prepared, it would have been easier to give up on this and try again with another but no.
Symbolically, metaphorically, and now physically, this is the beginning of a journey.
I won’t say it is MY journey – I hope it isn’t mine alone, but that others will join, too. Whether it’s sharing my content or reviewing my book, it can spread a message far, so if you’d like to join this journey, it would mean the world to me if you’d help make The Phoenix Effect fly.
