Time to Breathe
Well...I finally wrapped up Book 2 in The Golden Empire Series. It's available in eBook and paperback. Here's a description:
"With souls darkened by time and deeds, the Roberts Boys were resistant to compassion and love, and the ability to feel sympathy and empathy for others. They were blind, not only to the wants, desires, and dreams of others, but to the coming storm. A tempest was brewing beyond the control of the Roberts Boys. Their decisions and actions had created it, but there was no stopping it now. That violent storm was contained within Danny Vance. He was determined to bring these men to justice. Danny had the will to make them pay for their crimes; to make them suffer for murdering his friend and nearly ending his own life. To the Roberts Boys he'd be a dead man walking, and he was intent on bringing him Hell."
I suppose a reader could read Book 2 without checking out Book 1, but I hope that if you choose to read A Good Stock A Good Stock you'll start with A Branch Too Weak. A Branch Too Weak

So, what's next? Well, I need to take at least a week or two off from writing. But I'll start on Book 3, finish a companion book to Bootleggers, Booze, and Busts Bootleggers, Booze, and Busts: Prohibition in Kern County, 1919-1933, continue research for a book on Homesteading in the Greenhorn Mountains, and begin research on saloon culture in Bakersfield during the late 1800s and early 1900s.
All my best,
Richard
