Full Moon Rising

It's a full moon here tonight. New Zealand is a day ahead of North America, the first country in the world to see the new day due to our location near International Date Line. If you are fortunate to climb to the summit of Mount Hikurangi, while standing alone to see the rising sun, you will be the first witness to the new day before anyone on Earth.

Ancient mariners crossing vast oceans to settle in New Zealand navigated by the sun, moon, stars, planets, tides, currents, waves and winds. No sextant, no compass, no radar, no GPS. Nothing to guide them but an ingrained connection to the environment around them and the knowledge gained from generations of navigators sharing their learned wisdom.

The wisdom of the ancients adapted to the environment is an important aspect of my novel, 'Dream Walker'. In this modern world of failing ecosystems caused by human exploits, we need to look again to the wisdom of our ancestors. Environmental collapse of ecosystems are spreading like a cancer. We do know there are cures, but presently the prognosis is not good.

Starting tomorrow copies of my novel, 'Dream Walker' will be listed on Goodreads as a giveaway. 2% of all proceeds from sales of Dream Walker by the author are donated to select non-profit environmental watchdog groups. A small effort to help turn the full moon tide to Nature's side.

Thank you for supporting Dream Walker.
