C.C. Cortland I finally squandered some time and looked up your Codename: Athena, Michel. I can't say whether this is good or bad, but after a quick google search, a Mary Reid has also claimed the same novel on several sites. And may not be alone. The content, as far as I can determine, is the same though the front covers are different. Doubtless, this will be a consequence of publishing for free in such a fashion.

Not a fan of the style of prose, it comes across as similar to Jack Carr's The Terminal List. Which in all fairness, I didn't like that either, nor the borefest Amazon Series with Chris Pratt.

I should perhaps also mention, the Amazon link on Goodreads doesn't work. It's just a generic search.

The Jovian Uprising link does work. However, the content has problems in formatting and justification. You have left, right and unhelpful breaks with almost every paragraph and page. I'll presume this was a pdf upload. The Author name is listed as Michel Poul.

Take heart, at least, you have reviews on this site which is more than I can claim.

Thank you for your comments. I have already experienced in the past instances of fraudulent copies of some of my novels being put up online by others. That Mary Reid is one example, while the version of Jovian Uprising by 'Michel Poul' is another fraudster. Please note that I never linked any of my books to Amazon, so those links are fraudulent ones. I publish for free because I write strictly as a hobby, not to make money. My only goal is to allow readers around the World to be entertained by my stories. My first novels suffered from my initial level of English grammar standard (my mother tongue is French), but I have since gradually improved the quality of my English writing, to the point where I am told now that I could pass as an anglophone writer. Those readers of mine who posted reviews and ratings, both on GR and on Free-Ebooks.net (by far my most important publishing site) seem to genuinely like my stories, with quite a few telling me that my books are as interesting and entertaining as those from 'bestselling authors'. Unfortunately, the plague of fraudsters in book publishing is nothing new and will continue on despite our best efforts.

C.C. Cortland Np, readers complain for all sorts of reasons. This wasn't a critique of the writing style nor the content, simply to point out a few notable discrepancies.

Your English is infinitely better than my pitiful childhood French.

In light of the woeful condition of my first effort. On Amazon I got a 5*, 1* and a 2*. The five loved it, the one hated the punctuation and read only a few pages and the two decided it was boring halfway through and complained it was in 3rd person. I've since garnered a few more 4s after the re-edit and people continue to read them. So I’m happy, the overall numbers are unimportant.

The Jovian is more my forte and I may get around to reading it at some point. Albeit I have dozens of others collecting dust on the bedside table. Sadly, my time is consumed by work on the new fantasy trilogy and research. I did though notice a population of 8 Billion listed for 2135. As you stated, some details may have altered, though in reality we'll hit that come November, I believe. :) So its not wrong, disease may have trimmed the herd or we’ve institute some population control by then. It requires no other explaination.

Regards

C.C. Cortland Incidently, Michael Moorcock's, The Adventures of Una Persson & Catherine Cornelius in the 20th Century, is a personal favourite of mine.
